The age old question that women have asked and continue to ask; how do you know if a guy loves you? How do you interpret his actions/reactions to you? If you are in a relationship and have either a vague unease that plagues your happiness or you are puzzled by some of the actions that your man is doing (or not doing) then you might be facing the dilemma of; how do you know if a guy loves you? The problem for many of us is that the guy is sending out mixed signals or the signals are colored by our expectations so that even though the guy is sending the correct signals we are blinded by our expectations of what love entails.

1) One of the critical signs that he loves you is that he wants you to be a part of his life and he also wants to be a part of your life and so any signs or actions from him that indicate that he wants your lives to come together is good. Does he make an effort to spend time with you or does he spend most of his time with other people e.g. his buddies, workmates etc? Does he want to accompany you to the most unlikely places (hairdresser, shopping etc) just to spend time with you? Off course you don’t want to spend every waking minute with him as that’s unhealthy for any relationship and will result in him or you getting fatigued out or even resentful of the other. But you do want to spend a good amount of time together so that you get a feel for who he really is; his values, likes, dislikes, favorite things etc.
2) Another of the signs that he loves you is that he wants to know who you are and he wants you to know who he is. He will want to know all there is to know about you and he will readily tell you about him-self and his past (unless he thinks it will prejudice you against him), in which case he may filter some of the stuff he thinks will offend you. But he will let you know the important things about himself and he will release the unsavory bits with time as his trust in your love for him grows. He will call and talk about everything and nothing. And as your relationship progresses he will develop an interest in the things that are important to you.

3) Another of the signs that he loves you is that he will talk about you to the people that are important to him. Do members of his family or his friends know about you? When you meet some of his friends/family members do they give him a knowing look or say “we have heard about you” or as you talk to them you realize they know things about you that they could only know if he had told them?
4) Another of the signs that he loves you is that he will treat you well although this may be hard to appreciate since he may not understand your love language and what he considers good you may consider mediocre. Your ideas of what is good treatment may differ and you may need to tell him what it is that want and not expect him to be a mind reader. Is he making an effort to please you? If you don’t like the results of his efforts gently let him know what it is that you like.
Of course the importance of each of these signs will depend on the stage at which your relationship is at. If the relationship is new and the guy likes you but isn’t sure about you then he may send mixed messages. He may make an effort to spend time with you and then withdraw by not calling you every day as you expect. He may not spend the amount of time you would like with you but he talks to his friends/family about you.
